Luxury Vinyl Plank
At Hamilton Parker, we strive to achieve our customer’s vision through trust and expertise. No matter if you’re working on commercial office spaces or kitchen home remodel, our mission is to ensure our customers build right, every time. This is why we are bringing our customers Luxury Vinyl Plank and Tile in a large variety of designs and colors.
What is the difference between LVP and LVT?
LVP stands forLuxury Vinyl Plank and LVT stands forLuxury Vinyl Tile. Both flooring products are made to look like natural materials, with all the benefits man-made vinyl has to offer. This product is water-resistant, durable, long-lasting, and one of the most budget-friendly products in the flooring industry. It’s a striking and sensible choice for both residential and commercial projects for multiple reasons:
Variety of Designs and Colors
Luxury Vinyl Plank can be installed on walls or floors bringing different textures and looks to spaces. Designs can be achieved through the installation of a click and lock system or glue-down type of product. Click and lock allow for a “floating” floor which is manually installed over any hard surface into a space using a beveled edge plank (in most cases). A glue-down product is also an installation option. Colors range from whites and creams to rich dark moody hues, even vibrant primary colors.
Easy Maintenance
Luxury Vinyl Plank should only be used in interior spaces and climate-controlled environments. It’s easy to take care of because of the stain and water resistance capabilities. The product’s finishes are made of polyurethane with anti-microbial and ceramic bead technology for a solid surface with additional protection. This product requires little more than your routine floor cleaning to remove dirt and wipe away any spills or messes. It is recommended to stay away from harsh chemicals and abrasive pads to clean your floors.
Durability
This category of flooring is extremely durable because of the product thickness and wear ratings. Materials such as stone cores, cork, and polyurethane layers are dialed into a specific recipe to meet durability standards. For example, in high-traffic areas, you’ll need a thicker wear layer to withstand the traffic. It would be remiss not to note that almost all products come with a warranty based on the wear rating. At all of our Hamilton Parker locations, we offer the Tesoro collection LuxWood among other brands.
Water-Resistant
LVP is manufactured and comprised of materials that make it water-resistant. This makes LVP perfect for areas that can withstand moisture like kitchen backsplashes and bathroom floors, though it is not suited for wet areas like in showers.
Installation Tips
Many of these items on the market are installation-friendly and can be a nice weekend DIY project. Here’s a tip for install: To make the room appear larger, lay the planks parallel to the longest room dimension.
Additionally, you can install your luxury vinyl planks over an existing hard surface floor. If you choose to install the flooring over existing ceramic tile, make sure the grout lines are level with the tile prior to installing. Make sure that any other existing flooring has well adhered to the subfloor before installation.
