Important Update on Shipping Delays Due to ILA Strike

10/11/24

As of October 4th, 2024, the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) union strike has been suspended until January 15th, 2025. Despite the short duration of the strike, there remains a backlog of vessels, which continues to impact the global supply chain. This may affect delivery timelines for special order materials passing through East Coast ports.

We would like to remind you that we have readily available stock on hand in our warehouses. We are also encouraging our customers to remain vigilant, as this issue could potentially resurface at the end of the suspension in January 2025.

Hamilton Parker will continue to take proactive measures to mitigate any potential impacts and work closely with our international vendor partners.

As always, please reach out to your HP Representative if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

The HP Purchasing Department

We are taking a moment to inform you of the ongoing situation concerning the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) strike, which is currently affecting ports on the East Coast and Gulf Coast. As you may be aware, this strike is expected to cause significant delays for shipments arriving and departing from these key trade hubs.

The impacted ports are critical for international shipping, particularly with our vendors in the European Union, which includes Italy and Spain. As a result, we anticipate delays in our future shipments from these nations until a resolution is reached between the involved parties.

If you have special order items currently in transit, please be aware that these delays will also affect their arrival, as well as some of our inventory purchases. We are committed to keeping you informed as more information becomes available. If you have specific questions regarding your orders, we encourage you to reach out to your HP sales representative.

We remain dedicated to maintaining quality products. In the meantime, we would like to remind you that we have readily available stock on hand, as well as stateside options that are currently less affected by these disruptions.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or require further information.
